I think simplicity can definetly work with comedy. If the comedy itself is good, the quality of the flash shouldnt make any difference at all.
Good music is a n
ice addition too, and theres plenty of that not only in YOUR collection, but all over this site. Take your Playground After Dark song, it was used in a sonic flash that had like 5 screenshots and one small bad quality animation loop that I honestly laughed at. It was simple, short, and DUMB as hell (sonics downfall being that he drank a caffeinated beverage) but I laughed all the same.
Although it IS fortunate that your looking at comedy with simplicity, other subjects dont work so well. Like the flash "Sniper Mission" (i THINK thats what it's called, was using a song from another of my favorite music authors here) and while the music rocked, the animation just plain sucked. Wasn't a comedy, was supposed to be serious, and that point DID come across, but the quality was so bad, and the flash so short it just wasn't worth the time watching, much less making.
So to round up my rambling :P I think funny and simple work just fine. Things like family guy and south park really took off on that platform and hell, they STILL stick to that simple stupid comedy theme.

Hmm...simplicity is not always a bad thing ^^. I know of (and liked) many flashes that looked....just not as good as they probably could have. To be fair, alot of people would not appreciate a slightly less-then-well-drawn flash. But remember that many other people will see the flash and enjoy it just as much...with or without the crappy animation.
Just don't get all downtrodden if you find that people truly don't like it o.o...I mean...it happens *shrugs* ^^;

This is true... good point you've made. You see quite a few flashes that are VERY well done, and still people throw dirt on it. If I proceed with the simple I will likely get alot of that, but i guess it's best to ignore the haters and concentrate on those who enjoy it.
Thanks, gives me something to think about =)
